speed sensor

Any one have an idea how to change the speed sensor in an 84?
Does it have to be calibrated afterwards?

Unplug wire, remove 10mm bolt and sleeve, gently wiggle out the old sensor, swap the drive gear, and reverse to install.

But I thought it was an electronic part, so I don't understand about swapping the gears.

Do I get a gear also with the sensor?

Where is the best place to get a sensor?

Why do you need to swap out?
The gear drives the sensor.The sensor (if you can find one) does not come with a gear; you reuse your original one
You change to a different drive gear if you change your rearend ratio to make the speedo read correctly
