Would a bad "crankshaft positioning sensor" do this?!?!

Just read your story and saw that some codes are being set in the ECM. This sounds suspiciously like my wife's 91 L98 car - acted similar and after throwing parts at it, it was the ECM. They are not 100% reliable, and hers was randomly setting 3 unrelated codes.
I found one at a local junkyard and it was an AC Delco rebuilt. The 91 part crosses to about 10 other GM vehicles, and with a little luck you can find a used one to try instead of buying a rebuilt at full price. Good luck.

Not likely since your 93 does not have one.

Whats the difference between that and the "crankshaft sensor" in my FSM?

And once again, could that be the problem by chance?

No vette tech am I. When car dies Will it crank? if bat. should be ok If it cranks does it get spark? and fuel? does radio loose it's memerey? This trick may help can you get to wires comming of ing. sw? or fuel pump relay ing coil? If so tap into wires one at a time go to a LED in car to grnd. When car dies are the led,s lit or out? This may help you to get to prob. Also get a frac. elec. book also I have seen relays come and go at will and good luck!!

I do not lose any radio stations. Engine will immediately crank right away but just will not start, it does indeed get fuel but no spark.

You should be getting code(s) 16/36 for a bad opti.

I would pull the Crane HI-6tr ignition and see what happens.

On pre-96 cars the opti is used as a crankshaft sensor. Most of the time if an opti is bad, it will throw a code.

Im sorry and I dont mean to sound like I am arguing because I need the help please, but my FSM here clearly shows a picture of the side of the block and labels #1 as CRANKSHAFT SENSOR.

Is it misleading me or is there a difference i am unaware of?

It's very misleading and incorrect. The only sensors on the side of the block are knock sensors and an oil temp sensor. Are you looking at a FSM for an LS1 or your 93?

Well, I'm surprised you got that information from the 1993 FSM. But, it is wrong. Could you scan a picture/illustration?
