Default Help with code 32 and fans come on

1995 auto vette
About a month ago I insalled a manual fan switch.
About 2 weeks ago I got a code 32 which is EGR. when trying to retreve the code I went into the diagnostic mode before I found which were the correct wires to ground on my 95 to pull the codes.
This shut off my service engine soon light but I still pulled the code.
Everything checked out good,at least I think it did.

Today when driving everything was fine I came to a stop and my service engine soon light came on along with my fans.
I pulled the codes and still only 32 77 and 78(77 and 78 are do to the manual fan switch)
I let the car sit for 30 min.,when started now the light is off and so is the fans.
I then tryed my fan switch and it turns them off and on so I know the switch didn't go bad.

It was running a little rough when the light came on but not to bad.
Does the fan switch have anything to do with the fans coming on when the sevice engine soon light came on?
I guess I am going to replace my EGR valve, the EGR solinoid checked out good and opened in diagnostic mode.

I to have a manual fan switch which sets a fan code for me. I am not sure how you connected your switch because the fan configuration for the 94 and 95 is different.

However in essence, you probably connected to a low side of a relay taking it to ground thru the manual switch. This is the same point that the PCM sees and grounds to energies the relay. When you turn on the manual switch, the PCM sees this as a fault because it does not expect that point to be grounded since it did not do it. So it sets a code for the fans which stays as a historical code. With me, it does not affect any run ability.

Having said that,
My other thought is the relay configuration of the 95 is more complex than the 94. On the 94 its simple, one relay for each fan. On the 95 they run in hi or low speed switching relays for proper application of voltage for desired speed. Not sure how a manual fan switch is hooked up on yours or how many relays have to be pulled in to turn on the fans.

I am thinking that it has nothing to do with the switch, that just crosed my mind.
I know code 32 is for the EGR system and thats probley why it runs a little rougher when the light comes on.
I just don't know why my fans came on when the service engine soon light did,the car was only at about 200 deg so they should not have benn on.
