Default Muffler elims vs flowmaster mufflers

the previous owner had a flowmaster catback system installed. It sounds ok, i dont mind the drone, but would like something a bit louder. Im thinking about the targa muffler eliminators from eckers, or the muffler eliminators from mid america. would either of these be louder than my current flowmaster mufflers? thanks

These targas?

I have them and love them, they have a nice deep rumble to them @ idle and sound great when you open it up

I have the original style Flowmasters. Cant imagine straight pipes being any louder.

I had the Force II flowmaster mufflers, then switched to eliminators. I like the eliminators much better. Louder and much better sound. Instead of buying the eliminators from the catalogs, I had a local muffler shop fab and install a custom pair of eliminator tips for an exact fit, and for $100.

Better off fabbing your own eliminators

I bought the one out of the catalog.
The mounts only lasted a year.
After 8 years the rest finally rotted off.

I'm putting a 3in B&B on this winter.

I've driven C4-LT engines with Flowmasters and muffler eliminators/no mufflers.

No mufflers are quieter with a nice rumble when you step on the engine. I bought my 95 with flowmasters, it was horrible.

had flowmaster before, they are relatively aggressive. I switched over to magnaflow, they are every quieter!

if you want loud, go with eliminators. They are also the most cost effective. A local shop will do a better job.

Or source your own tips, and get 3" piping (two mandrel bends) and weld it up yourself.

mufflers are, in my opinion, money not-so-well spent on these c4's.... not necessarily a power gain from there, more so for sound and visual appeal. Otherwise, I'd have gone with 3" duals with an x-pipe without any mufflers.

BrianCunningham-
TJWong told me the B&B's are outrageously loud with a blower (not a good loud)!
