if you went to an auto parts store and bought the cheap chrome thermostat housing it would have better clearance then the one you have..

Your absolutely right. But it only took me about 20 min's to get it done. Now it fits with no interferance. Plus I don't have a spare part that I'll never use again.
More to come on this thread. Hopfully I will get some more pics up for you guys shortly.

I have a huge amounts of pics to update this installation and will be doing it either later today or tomorrow. Install has gone rather easy but I'm taking my time since it won't come back out of the garage until spring.

Just to spite jeffp11whatever, you should forgo the multi injectors and feed it w/the two CFI TB's & injectors bolted to the front of the HSR.

I also wanted to get a pic of why the HSR doesn't fit under the C4 hoods. I had to remove the fender well to get this photo for you guys.
It will barely hit in the TB area

I am going to cut the hood anyways under my scoop. I'm also going to open up the nostrils and try to come up with something thats close to RAM AIR

So this is how I marked my hood
First I cut a template out of the area I want to have using a piece of card board. I also put duct tape on it so when I closed my hood it would attached.

Open the hood back up and I had this

Put a few extra pieces of duct tape on it to just hold it there until I'm ready to open it up

Default Stupid Question Alert!!!

I was looking over your parts list. Are you using the CFI ECM? Did you just have the EPROM re-flashed? I would not think that was possible but if it is then that is really cool. I noticed also that you had all of the injectors wired in series. So this will be a batch fire system correct?

No, I haven't used the CFI ECM in a year. I've been using dynamicefi's ecm. Completely tunable. You just flash the new .bin in. NO prom. Its geared more toward the TBI setups but does have an upgrade for multiport. Only costs $25. My HSR was free so why not!!! Go for it.
The injectors are wired in parallel not series. One advantage I feel going this route is there is no need for a lot of wiring or even new stuff. You split the existing TBI injectors wires and wire parallel for each side. If your removing the smog you have an extra wire that you can use for the IAT. Everything stays the same inside the car. Thats it nothing special and no new harness to pull....:thumbs

Looking good. Ive been wondering if the injectors could be wired like that. Thought about converting my 89 Camaro to tpi. Now I know. Probably still wont do the conversion, for other reasons.

Default Just to clarify

I understand you did not use the cfi engine management computer. But is it possible? Could I change to a batch fire tpi setup by changing the fuel pump and pressure regulator and a few other things?

The early TPIs ARE already batch fire. Are you saying you are thinking of removing the Crossfire and converting the L83 engine to an L98 TPI fuel injection? The stock Crossfire is easier and cheaper to modify than the TPI. Dollar for dollar, you will make a faster car for less money modifying an L83 than you will an L98. And that doesn't include the cost of doing the conversion.

RACE ON!!!

Hey CFI, nice to see you and a question for you. All that hassle to change over to tpi from Crossfire, so whats he going to gain for his troubles? 25 HP? Maybe.? Seems like alot of unnessary work to me. What the OP has going on here looks like a better route to get serious HP.
