What is too much torque?

In my simple mind a SBC can't and won't make too much torque, only enough to break the C4 weak links.

Find a big lever and the torque won't bend the little lever....

Yep...I had some special considerations and specific goals. This thread was created at least 1yr ago IIRC. I came back to report that my concern about having too much torque @450 was unfounded (though a couple of owners with 400rwtq) cautioned me it might be.

I'd think there'd be a level above 450-500 where the ability to gain traction would get annoying with street tires and an automatic. Maybe not for a stick.

Personally, I don't care anymore -- since my build is complete. Since I don't see this thread heading anywhere constructive -- especially to the goal for which I posted it, I sent the mods a request to close it.

Maybe Polo has the right answer above....
