Default Instructions to Remove Exhaust?

Hey does anyone have a link on how to remove the exhaust from a 1993 Corvette with really detailed instruction

I'm trying to replace the starter motor, and in order to do so, I have to remove the first piece of the exhaust from the passenger side. I want to make sure I'm removing all i have to in order to get the exhaust. I have the FSM but I can't get it because I was visiting a friend when the starter died.

I really appreciate it everyone!

According to Alldata it should be a simple job-meaning exhaust does not have to be removed. If you car is a Zr-1 than its a more "involved" job.Just disconnect battery, then remove wires from starter, then unbolt starter.Reverse to install.Sorry,I have no pictures.Someone here might

I did not think I was going to get my starter out on my 94 because it looked tight. But the starter does slip out and was smaller in size than I thought.

Don’t give up before you have tried to get it out. Removing the exhaust is a much bigger job. Don’t forget to Disconnect battery.

As the others have said it is NOT necessary to remove the exhaust to remove the starter, but it is CRITICAL that you disconnect the battery before starting the job. Good luck.

Hmm Ok. I'll definitely take a second crack at it. Removing the exhaust is looking to be about as fun as changing the rear lights on my '90.

Thanks! I'll update on my progress this afternoon!

I found that a shallow U-joint socket (13mm IIRC) helps to get at the starter bolt that's hidden by the exhaust. Mine is a Craftsman. A regular socket on a U-join wouldn't work for me...

You really don't want to pull the exhaust, especially the downpipe, if you can avoid it - you will probably break some studs, which may lead to pulling the manifold.

you would have to drop both sides for it to make any difference anyway. just wiggle and pull and be careful with rubber washer/bushing because they is no replacement available for it. you would have to make one with gasket material.
