Default temp Gauge Sensor

OK- My Temp Gauge Sendor only reads Lo. It seems the green wire comes up from below the exhasut manifold and ends just above the exhaust manifold. I can not seem to find the other end of the wire. Does anyone know where it should connect to?

It helps to let use know what year car you have....If your talking about the wire that comes up on the passenger side, it hooks to the sender between spark plugs 6 and 8.(the 2 rear plugs).WW

LOL it is an 87 - I do not see a plug . It look slike this engine was rebuilt and maybe the never put one in? there is a Hex Screw in the side of the head that looks like it could be removwed to install a sensor.

Look on the driver's side head between 1 & 3 maybe they mixed up the heads when they went back on.

There is a Sensor on the drivers side between the front two plugs with a green wire going into the harness bhy the alt. Wierd part is if I ground the loose wire on the other side it casues the temp gauge to read 299 degrees.

That's a good thing, confirms that the circuit is intact. Buy the proper sender and stick it in the passenger side head.
