Default no spark lt1

1994 lt1 6 speed. Ok asking for help. A few weeks ago I thought I would install my msd digital 6 box that I have had for 4 years. The car already had the plug ins for it from the past. Plugged the box in per colors and diagrams, no start. Unhooked and put everyback to stock, no start. Today I had the ign. control mod checked, and it checked out good. I have not tested the coil yet, but it is an msd and maybe 6 months old. I can smell fuel also. Possable other problem could be, one day walking by the car I noticed the security light on for no reason. I could not get it to shut off so I disconnected the battery after that it never cam back on. I do not remember if I tried to start it before I started the ign. install. Whats next.

Thank You

Not much to go on so I will take some educated guesses and make some assumptions.

Since you smell fuel I would guess that the injectors are working and there is no spark. My first impression is that you might have blown a fuse by hooking all that stuff up. I would start by checking the 10 Amp coil fuse #25. If fuse is good then you can also take off the ICM connector, turn the key to on and check for 12 volts on pins A (pink/black) & D (dk green).

I would also reseat all the plugs you had your hands on including the opti, coil and ICM. Also check the PCM 5 Amp fuse.

If that’s all good, have someone crank the engine and do a check for spark directly off the coil. If there is spark, then it should be at the plugs. If no spark, then we would need to check for the drive pulse from the PCM to the ICM. I will not detail that procedure at this time (depending on your results.

Do you have any documentation for the car, tools and a DVM. Make all the checks you can and put them in the post.

Checking for spark and fuel pressure would be the basic things to do. Since you were into the ignition system, I would think that’s where we are going to end up.

Yeah already did all that. I have not checked the coil yet. Getting ready to.

Is there a way to reset the security system?

You referred to the security light and the passive entry light. If you are talking about the PKE light, it should only light for 2 seconds when the key is turned on. If it stays on chances are the PKE receiver is bad.

There is no real reset of the security system. The only reset of any kind is to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds.
