Default need '86 fuel filter help

went to register car today, stopped to fill tank. Car was running perfectly up until I filled the tank(took 11gal). After, it would fall flat when accelerating and want to stall. Full throttle it'd stumble, then catch itself and rev normally. Idle it would surge and want to die. My first thought was that I stirred up crap in the tank and fuel filter was a good place to start. What I found was the factory fuel filter had been removed and an "industrial" fuel filter plumed in. The metal lines have been cut in the process. I want to return to "stock" filter, is there a model that has hose fittings on the ends that I can replumb in with hi-pressure hose? Any other ideas?

No, it's a racor model 110 fuel filter/water seperater. Last owner was an 'ol truck driver and this is something found on a truck. Looks like a filter on an air compressor. While I'm gonna replace it. I'm afraid it isn't the cause of my troubles. I didn't see my return filter off hand, either.
