Default Click Click Click

Just started to notice a Clicking noice when i accelerate. the noise will not be generated if if I put in her "N". The noise sounds like the click click of a roller coaster going up the first hill, except higher pitch. When in gear the clicking will get fast with increase RPM's. Any ideas?

Is it a rapid clicking (spark knock?). And in your situation, I wouldn't be accelerating too much! :D

sounds much more like a mechanical knocking noise. Its not a high pitch click either. it is very low.

Thats the first noise I had when the u-joints went out. Shortly after that, it got much louder and clicked whenever moving.

U-joints, bearings, nail/rock in your tire? Those would be my first guesses. My rear half-shaft u-joints started like a ticking/swishing from the back, then progressed to a blood-curdling shriek. Good luck

If no codes are set, then I agree with the above post and it is probably a u-joint as it happens when the car is underpower. (torque applied to the drivetrain)....and not when you "put it into N". NOT a fun job to fix but fairly straight forward. I did all 6 of mine a few months back. A beer or two makes it go easier. :yesnod:

I don't think a beer would go over to well in Auto Class. hahahaha
