Click the link below to read about upgrading a 1985 Corvette to a 2007 LS2 with a 4L60E automatic transmission. The includes discussion of some common tools needed, modifications necessary, fabrication required, and part numbers for the components to complete the swap. Many of the considerations to complete the swap into a C4 would also be pertinent to other generations.

Nice write up, especially listing the parts and part numbers. It can be a frustrating and discouraging process to sift through various parts, hardware bins, and junk yards trying to find that one hose or fitting or part that might work.
There seems to be a few ways to get this done, thanks for documenting start to finish in one place. Anyone capable of tackling this type of project can certainly figure the minute details.
1. Corvette fever's C4orce used a TKO 5 speed with a C-beam adapter and a hydraulic throwout bearing. http://www.corvettefever.com/techart...ech/index.html
2. Dick Guldstrand mated a ZF6 with a hydraulic throwout bearing. Article is in Corvette magazine March 2009.
3. Quicktime has a bellhousing that mates the ZF6 to LS engines
Someone over here apparently has done it - http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...=130585&page=4
