Mine ran those temps five or six years ago. LT-1's run those temps on a normal basis....especially not on the highway.

Try:
1. Pulling the radiator and giving it a good cleaning.
2. Purchase a new radiator cap.
3. Purchase a new t-stat.
4. Full system flush & replace with a 50/50 distilled water and antifreeze mixture.
5. Purchase new upper and lower radiator hoses.

The above has my vette running between 175 highway and 195 in heavy traffic. (and has for over five years)

I used a Big Mouth Air Dam which worked well until I made it look like an old beer can.

I'll add make sure your front air dam (the black rubber/plastic) is in good condition.
It pushes air up into the radiator.

I've got to get a new center section so my temps go back down to the 190 or less range they were at before half of the center went missing.

Also make sure your lower valence is in good condition.
I've got to replace mine, I lost half of the center section and my temps went up.

Your pretty much operating in the areas where it should be. Mine runs just under 200 on the expressway and just over 200 with the A/C on and the primary fan running. If that fan does not run when traffic, it will climb toward the 220 mark depending on outside air temperature.

I put in a new stock radiator in few years back which was ½ inch bigger than the original radiator and did make a difference and brought me down to 193 when running 50+ mph.

So to get a little more control of the cooling system I installed a switch to turn on the secondary fan when I need it. That fan is not going to come on till 239* normally and I’m not going to let the temp get anywhere near that anyway.

In the summer in Orlando I need all the fans I can get going 5 mph on the expressway ramps or creeping on the expressway.
