Default sensor??

Ok guys, i just broke a green wire on some sort of sensor on the block right between the 2 spark plugs on the drivers side closest to the front of car. Of course it broke right at the plug so i cannot splice it. What sensor is it. I will just need the wire with plug to go into the sensor.Any idea where i can get one.

If it is a single green wire then that's the wire that should go to cluster for the engine coolant temp gauge but I don't recall it located between 1 & 3 thought it was between 6 & 8.....but it maybe correct for your year model.....no worries though the ECM gets its coolant temp from another sensor in the front of the car's intake.

Not sure where to tell you to go to get a replacement connector though.

It's a temp switch for the booster fan, mounted to front side of rad.
The connector is the same one used on the knock sensor, so your local parts place has 2 chances to find you the correct connector.

Here is a pic of my spare, so you can show them.

I'm confused, you said it was drivers side. So now it's on passenger side ??

Agent, he is responding to Engle's comment that his is on the right side....

The wire is as Agent 86 states, between #1 and #3, and is for your cooling fan in front of the radiator.

I don't mean to be a jurk but the green wire with a white stripe that i'm talking about is on the drivers side between the 2 spark plugs. It goes to a relay next to the battery. There is a solid green wire that goes to the fan motor from the radiator just below the cap. Steve

That is the low coolant sensor; wire goes into main harness by the fan , not to the fan

On my '87 at least ; the wire from the head sensor you mention goes to the Aux fan relay mounted on the front of the radiator shroud (by the LH hood hinge) .Relay by battery is for main fan
