84- ODOMETER READING - RESETTING BYE ITSELF/not working
Hello All,
This is regarding my 84, 4+3 vette,
I notice that my trip odometer seems to reset itself... I could be driving down the road & it will register the blocks I have traveled, But then it will go back to zero & start over on its own, & sometimes it will not register at all..., What would cause this..
Were does the trip odometer get it signal from?
Any ideas would be helpful

Circuit loops from the center DIC panel switch assembly. Could be a few things like the small connection at the cluster is not seated properly. To me it sounds like your "reset" button or the "trip" switch is on the blink. Sometimes agressively pressing or switching these switches will free them up. If you continue to have problems replace the center DIC panel as an assembly as the switches are not serviceable.

^^I like that answer.....someone spilled soda on the switch and now it is gummed up in the depressed position...you hit a bump and contact is made.
Try some electrical contact cleaner and cycle the switch
