Default Bosch III Injector Kit

I recieved my injectors today! I purchased a Bosch III 24lb kit from Jon @ FIC. The kit came with gaskets and 0-rings for the fuel rail. Are there any other parts I need for the job?

On a side note, I know most people are already fans of Jon but I have to say it anyways. What a great guy! I bought the kit online on Tuesday and I got it today! Super fast shipping!

Thanks for the help in advance

I think you will need an upper plenum gasket set.

When I did mine, the o-rings at the fuel rail were worn and needed replacing, I would pick up a set of those as well.

If TPI maybe - most of the "stock" gaskets can be reused if they don't rip apart on disassembly.

A new "fuel pressure regulator diaphram" might be a good investment since you've got it all taken apart.

Pressurize the fuel rail and check for leaks before you put the enire intake back on.

Just make sure you put Vasolene/petroleum jelly on all your O-rings. Don't worry about using too much, it will mix with the fuel and dissolve any extra and everthing will pop in easily. I also put some dielectric grease before fastening the electrical connections back on the injectors. What year was this for? I have a '93 and they had two different sets for those. The previous owner had put a set in that he got from Jon and I was getting poor mileage. Jon knew what the problem was, sent me out a new set and they were giving me over 30 mpg. Something about the ohms/impedience value difference. He is always good about answering your questions either by email and/or phone.

I was thinking about going for an AFPR when I did the swap. Opinions?

Anyone with input on installing an AFPR please share it. I want to put one in while I have everything already opened up and I want a fixed gauge that will constantly read pressure as well...What parts do I need for this? Jegs and Summit have tons of gauges and regs and I dont know which one to pick.

Required: regulator diaphram

optional: you'll need a regulator cover (AFPR).

I just ordered my FIC injectors too. I also ordered up an adj fuel pressure reg. I've hear the 85 cars respond well to an increase in pressure as they have a lower pressure and high pound injector than the years after using a 22lb injector. I ordered mine begining of the week, so they should be here soon.

Do it. The 85 24# injectors atomize better with a little more pressure. Later years went to 22# injectors with higher pressure. Check the TPiS web site.

I bought my regulator from Corvette Central, supposed to come with lower intake runner gaskets as well, so that'll be extras. It was $70, the same $70 TPiS has listed on their site for one as well. I didnt really find much cheaper than that, but admittedly I didnt look exceptional hard. I had in an order for a bunch of stuff from Corvette Central already, I just put it in with that order.

I strongly suggest it; there are some AFPRs that come with a new diaphram.

Hi. I have an 85 and got the kit from Jon. The kit was complete with the O rings necessary. I was recommended to take away the locks on the fuel rail and the injectors were corrected for the 85 TPI in Oring height.
Jon have an excellent service !!!!!!
The injectors worked very fine and changed the starting to a very quick starting even from temps in - 15degr. C to hot summerdays.
The car responded faster and milage increased. More power?. That I cannot tell yet, but the feeling is positive.

The only tip I can give on removing the FPR is to make sure you are using the correct torx bit and take it easy. They like to strip out.

You will need a special Torx bit with a dimple in the middle; one ususally comes with the AFPR.

If the car still runs, put a gauge on the Schraeder valve and record the FP at idle with the vacuum line disconnected and plugged. Later, when you want to experiment with higher FP, you have a starting point.
