SOOOO Close....
The car off the trailer ran a 10.10@133MPH. As the evening went on the air cooled off to about a 2000' DA.
On the second to the last run the car literally went on the bumper and went a 10.03@134MPH. They estimated the wheelie to be about 220 ft out before it touched back down.

The best it ever went before was a 10.05 so its a new best for the first time out. Nothing was changed other than the air was a little better and they resurfaced the first 330ft of the track.

Thanks for the comments guys. It is always nice sharing with those that appreciate this stuff.
Typically, the car only pulls the front off the ground about 2.5ft and carries them to the 60ft mark. But on that one run last night I was playing with the launch rpm and it got a little higher than I like (well it makes for a fun ride anyways).
It is the most surreal feeling when the car launches. It is SUPER smooth and goes arrow straight,,obviously or I would be on into the stands or across the other lane.

Its an awesome feeling to be in a car that launches like that. These vettes handle so well down track I have to say if it did not do that, it would be boring after awhile. The motor is still the same 434, 11.5:1 as before. Still run the car around on the street on pump gas. Still has the full interior, radio, power everything and is a blast to drive on the street.
Its just a solid setup coupled with the solid rear setup it puts every ounce of power to the ground on each launch and those of you that know realize that the first 60ft is the most crucial.

i might be in touch for some tips and also for some tuning for my brother later this summer...i see on your site you still do chips and you're not that far away from me so i'll likely try to funnel some business your way
i've been toying with my bike for 2 years now...it's time to get back into the vette. with any luck at all MAYBE you'll get to see the 427 on the road this year...even though your SBC is bigger than my BBC

I need to make a mount for the dash cam. It would be cool for you guys to see the view. Its usually hood and sky, but I look out the drivers window and watch the side of the track to make sure its going straight.
I tried to take my sister down the track years ago and the tracks would not allow it. That was back when it only went 11.0s...so now its not likely. Plus I would not feel comfortable with someone else in there. God forbid something happened and they got hurt. At those speeds anything could happen and trust me it would not be pretty. The car at the end of the strip is pulling like a freight train.
