heres my situation. when i bought my 94 6 speed, the shifter was lifting hard when i got on the car. narrowed it down to loose c-beam. tightened it up and it fixed the problem. however the car wasnt quite right, and i figured out the tail of the tranny was sitting low from the bolts being loose, so i lifted it back up straight and retightened the bolts. problem solved. well in the next week or so ill be installing beam plates along with a few other goodies and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get new c beam bolts. or atleast the front 2 as they were the loose ones. i fear that while the tranny was hanging down some bouncing around, that it may have stretched the bolts. anyone know where i can get new ones just for some reassurance? thanks!!
I doubt that the bolts stretched, but if yours is anything like my 96, six speed:
the bolt holes on the top of the beam, both fore and aft, had become elongated and worn oversize; beam plates helped (I made my own) but the real solution is going to be replacing the c-beam
strangely enough the lower bolt holes did not appear worn oversize, or if they were, they were not worn anywhere near what the top holes were.
Also the factory used a adhesive when mounting the beam; it probably needs to be renewed.
