The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
and the price is high, plus the big one is they could be an inch or two wider.
I like the heavy duty clear ones available at most auto stores.
They are only around 25.00, can be trimmed to size, and you can see the carpet underneath. Im sold.
All of our vendors custom-cut their mats, and I'm sure they'd be interested in your feedback as well.

First, the price for most of the best front mat sets from vendors are about 90 a pair.
That is 3x more than mats you can buy at any auto store or walmart.
For that price, they should pack every feature, and go overboard/overkill on everything.
No excuses on anything, and not cut corners and apply the law of minimum effort.
A few areas where the price doesn’t meet product...
The drivers side should be slightly rounded and molded, to extend 2.5" more width on the left side, near the parking brake.
This should taper clear back to the front of the mat, near the footrest.
A lot of corvette owners pick up slight wear in this unprotected area near the parking brake.
I have a bare carpet spot on mine, where this has happened, and I have seen it on many others.
That’s where the vendors make an extra buck and sell the vinyl paint for carpet, ha.
Plus when I vac there is always a little gravel, dirt, etc, that has slipped under the mat from hanging in that sloped area.
It could also include a simple extension up front to cover the plastic foot rest piece, which is part of the original carpet area and picks up huge wear.
I have seen many cars, including my own when I got it, the carpet in the footwell was great but that uncovered foot rest area was worn very badly, simply because its not covered.
Form follows function, it would look better too, more beefy and full, instead of the skinny width you get.
The first mats I bought in the 90's were only 9" wide on this side.
They look the same today. Remember this is a 45.00 mat, they should not be cutting corners anywhere, no excuses.
Another obvious flaw...
Look on the left side, rear, near the seat... on most floor mats from vendors, they totally round the corner off, leaving a totally empty space.
I have only seen llyods custom mats make the full pointed triangle that extends to the edge.
How hard is it to extend the carpet a few inches and make a triangle ?
Many others dont do it. Thats just plain freakin cheap and lazy.
There are mats in my ecklers catalog that run 130.00, and they even cut the corner off.
It literally fulfills the expression ' cutting corners ' haha
Leaving off that triangle, just by itself, is reason enough for me to reject their entire product.
There is one maker that makes a total molded boot thing, like a molded carpet shield.
That is the only fully correct one that protects on all sides against lotsa dirt, that does happen

A driver shouldn’t ever have to make a conscience effort while driving thinking ' is my foot on the mat ?' My wife says that sometimes

The vendors of the regular mats must think we all live in sunny california, and will spend 100.00 without questioning anything, only to be ripped off by these lazy designs.
My day in the sun...
I like my clear, custom one better.
We always like to hear customer feedback, about our products and others - it helps us make sure we're offering a quality product.
As for the issue you mentioned though about wondering "is/are my feet on the mat" - I had the same issue in my car (my factory mats shift too, and they don't fit like I wish they would) and it was leaving large areas where there were gaps and/or it would bunch under the pedals - not just annoying, but scary and a safety hazard too, right?
Here's my (inexpensive) fix .... it's a great way to get your OEM mats to provide the coverage you need at a price that's very affordable if you can't afford new mats. (After using some gentle carpet cleaner).
Velcro. Yeah, velcro. Buy some of the industrial-strength stuff on Ebay (with the adhesive on the back) and make sure you put the rough side on the back of your mat. It will keep your mats in place and help them protect your interior without that annoying bunching and shifting.
Anyhow, I really appreciate your feedback, will pass it along to our vendors when I get a chance.
