Default Oil Leak after rebuild

I have a LT4 that I just freshened up, rings & bearings & such. I put a Melling High Flow oil pump in it thinking that it would be better for Auto X. When I cranked it up oil came pouring out the two allen bolts that hold the bracket for the oil filter. The oil pressure was up & down going up to the first mark on the gauge & dropping down. I took the bracket off & put another gasket on with some prematex, let it set over night, same thing, but not as much oil as before but a steady stream. So I took it all apart & put the stock oil pump back on, I used the same spring that was on the high flow ( I think that this was my mistake, but I couldn't find the stock spring) when I cranked it up I had steady oil pressure on the high side but oil came out the same place again. I have talked to some of my friends that work on their cars & they have never heard of that problem.
Anyone else run into this? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Did you take the spin on adapter off? There is a large oring that seals it. Usually comes with the oil pan gasket kit.

Maybe you left the old one on. Shouldn't need permatex.

Bearings good, O'ring in place. Oil coming out the two allen bolts on the bracket that bolts to the block that holds the oil filter. There is a gasket that should prevent this but it isn't. I guess I will tear into the motor again to try & see some thing. This just doesn't make sence. No reason to take pics, oil coming out two fast any way.

Intresting, where is this at? I have the pan off now, is this on the pump itself? Thanks

Couldn't find anything wrong so I put a stock spring back into the oil pump, fired it up no oil leak. I guess the other spring was too much. Thanks for you input.
