Default Cam question

I'm looking to retrofit my '78 350 to roller, and the cam grind I'm looking at is for an OE roller block. I know the nose of the cam is different, for the thrust plate, but can I use this cam in an old block, or do I need a custom grind? I'd do the button and dist. gear. All the cams I see in the Retrofit segment have 110* overlap, I need a 112 to try and keep my Computer Quadrajet happy. Thx

Not sure about the cam retro deal but I recently put a CC 8-508-8 roller into my '88 Vette rebuilt L98; it has a 112deg LSA.

Retro roller cores use the big flat nose just like the stock cam in it. You have to use a thrust button to control lateral movement in an early SBC.

My cam grinder Mike Jones can hook you up with just what you need on the camshaft.
