Default Gearing question...

What are good gears that would work for both drag racing and for everyday driving? I am looking for ones that I can still use if I decide to have some fun on the freeway. :D

for a TPI car, you can never go wrong with 3.07's :D But if you want to put on some HIGH PERFORMANCE gears, see if you can't get a set of Factory 3.45's.
Or you can always try 5.16's!
BTW: Love your car! I was going to paint my 85, PPG Tangelo Orange, then someone ran it over :(

I like my 3.07s. :yesnod: They are enough to still launch hard, and still get me 30+ MPG at 65mph.

I've got 3.45s going in pretty soon. I imagine going from my 2.59s will be a shocking experience. :reddevil

Anything more than 3.45 is not good for an L98.

For your L98 I would go for a 3.31 or so. Those are factory gears and still available through the salvage yards making the swap rather easy. :seeya
