Speedometer problem
Anyway, it is an 86 corvette and the speedometer is off. I am not driving the car, but when I rev the engine, while the car is in park, the speedometer registers increasing speed. It also shows the upshift light.
I have changed the transmission, and rebuilt the digital dash. This was done before I stopped working on the car a year ago, and I did not have these problems before I stopped working on the car a year ago. Before starting the car up again, I was working around the VSS at the tail of the transmission, because I was routing AN-6 tranmission lines. The digital dash does have the occasional blink.
Here is my question, does this sound more like a VSS problem or am I looking at a problem like the digital dash.
Thanks,
Harry
RPM gauge works?
Any special mods to engine/cluster tranny wiring?
Another thought/test is to disconnect the tach wire (white wire from the dizzy) and try to rev engine and see it the speedo readout changes or remains at "0" like the RPM gauge should.
