Default 1990 srs light

I have a 1990 that has had a infl rest light and seat belt warning on for over a year and have been ignoring well recently I decided to try to fix it. I puled the code it was a 16 for right front impact sensor so I cleaned it and put diaelectric grease on it and reinstalled after about 30 tries I got the light to reset with the grounding techinic 5 secs on 5 secs off the light was off for a min or two when I started the car and then it set the same code 16. The next step was to find the connections for both crash sensors and test them with an ohm meter both sensors give off the same readings when tested I cant check for an open in the wires to the derm due to the fact there is no connector the wires are just fed right into the derm. I could really use some help I have had no luck finding any wiring schematics or explanations on how this style crash sensor functions this problem has been driving me nuts for two weeks now if anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful also if anyone has the rest tool that lives in the phoenix, AZ area that I could borrow it would be really helpfull (the reason I dont spend the money to buy one is I have a snap on scanner specifically set up for obd 1 gm cars and its throwing an error when I try to communicate with only the airbag system on the car so there is a chance the reset tool may have the same issue) Thanks you hopefully some one can help or the bulbs are coming out for the lights so I don't have to see them anymore

Been some time since I repaired my air bag light, if memory serves #16 is the left side frame sensor.

After cleaning & reinstalling the sensor #16 still showed up. The problem was the connector at the cockpit side of the firewall. The connector is a yellow rubber male/female style without a locking tab. Aparently it separated from vibration.

Thank you I can only assume that's what my issue was too because your tip gave me the motivation to go back out reconnect everything and try resetting everything and know for the first time in over a year I don't have that light driving me nuts thanks again for the help

You mentioned that you cleaned the right side sensor for a Code 16....I believe Code 16 is for the left side and Code 26 for the right. Did you clean the left or the right?
