Default ground wire location

Had some work done on my 85 and had a new ground wire put on at same time. Started having battery problems couple of months ago and put in my second new battery today. Left hood up to start engine and saw sparks fly up when I tried to start engine. Found that the ground wire had been attached to a bolt right beside the steering column. Wire wont completely tighten moves around into steering column. From what I remember the ground wire goes somewhere under the car. Does anyone know where the ground wire fastens to the car?
Thanks

Most of the ground wires on the 85 attach to the lower rear drivers side of the block.
