Headers are in...what next?
So far I have the following mods:
1. 1.6 rr
2. 160 deg Thermostat
3. Cut lid with K&N
4. TB bypass
5. LT headers
6. EGR/AIR/Cat delete
What I want is more SOTP difference in acceleration. However, I want to keep the stock rear end ratio. What do you guys recommend?
check it out on youtube

For SOTP feel the rear end it the thing that will get you there , If you have an automatic a higher stall converter also helps..Other then those 2 things , not much else without going into the motor...WW
PS...Theres always NOS....

Exhaust and then supercharger (or nitrous if you want to pay less up front and more in the long run)

Well I was thinking of doing one of the following:
1. LT4 Hotcam
2. PCM for less tune
3. or an X-pipe instead of resonator
BTW here is a picture of my exhaust work!

Nice looking job on the pipes.
. The hotcam will work well, porting the intake or going to highflow intake will help, though the tune is a good idea, I would save that until your done with the rest of your changes so you only have to do it once..WW

All the things you said will help but the only way to come off the line hard and fast is to change the gears. You would be shocked at the difference between 2.59 to 3.07 and 3.73. It is the only way to get off the line.. and honestly it does not cost a whole lot.

Thanks man. I put the headers in myself. But a had a heck of a time trying to find an exhaust shop that was willing to work around the CAT's.

Check out my exhaust
I bought the headers used from another forum member. And the install went almost flawless. Unfortunately I had to chase down a header gasket leak. But with that squared away I can tear it up at Bloomington Gold this weekend.

What kind of headers did you install? Cats or no cats?

My set up came to the following grand total.
Headers $360
Gaskets $22
EGR/AIR delete plates $15
Exhaust parts and labor $275
Grand total $672
The real question is. Was it worth it? And the answer is maybe. That is because I felt hardly any SOTP difference. This is mainly because I didn't tune for the lack of air/egr plumbing. However, the throaty rumble when you open it up makes it all worth while.

Im not sure I will be going the h-pipe route. However, an x-pipe and a set of Corsa mufflers is on the not too distant horizon.

But I am wondering how much gearing I should change. Because at the moment I kinda like the highway driveability.
