Default Rough idle, need advice

Hi guys, newbie to the forum and I need some advice. I have a 95 LT1 Corvette and it's been with a private mechanic for...7 weeks (I know everyone's first bit of advice is find a new mechanic which I totally agree with but for now I'll just go with explaining what's wrong lol).

We took our vette to get the head gaskets replaced and that was all fine and dandy (excluding the hefty pricetag) and along the way the following "issues" arose and were replace:
-new spark plugs and wire set
-both coolant temperature sensors replaced
-air bleed pipe replaced

Well after all that was done and our "mechanic" put her back together and while re-adjusting the rocker arms she developed a very rough idle and a mild smell of gas vapors in the engine bay which subsides almost immediately after turing off the ignition. She doesn't start hard but seems to almost be missing even when revving. You can hear the valves rattling a bit when she idles. No warning lights are coming on, no check engine light, etc. We're at a loss right now as to what the problem is. She was running just fine two days ago when she was started up, no idle, no fumes. Mind you she's been sitting for about two months so the fuel is probably shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S.
We do not mutilate cats or kittens lol the nickname is a cross between the one I use and my husband uses

Sounds like you should return to the mechanic with the complaint. Rocker arms being adjusted to tight (or loosening?) could cause missing. Or an injector plug that wasn't locked tight. Or a spark plug wire that wasn't secured correctly, burned a spot, and is arcing.

It could be a coincidence that another problem has popped up (like a failing injector), but probably not.
