I will say if I found that on my car I would remove the hub for an inspection rather then just tighten the nut and keep driving on it.
You can rent that 36mm socket from Autozone as well as a 250 ft/lbs torque wrench.
I had the same problem - clicking noise on left rear - on my 86. It was left rear outboard U-joint. Just a data point. Wheel bearing/hub assembly was OK.
