difference". Also, have any of you taken into consideration that using indexing washers runs the risk of recessing the spark plug too far. This can lead to misfiring.
I dont recommend recessing washers. use the method I described above.
Again, im doing mine for detonation resistance, not for a HP gain.
finally, if you have long tube headers, accessing/replacing a plug is way easier than with a stock exhaust manifold. I have TPIS LT headers and its considerably easier
Not sure why you think there is some type of argument going in this thread. Here are some key words which you might have missed that may help clarify the stance of this thread.

Trial and error should take less than 5 extra minutes per plug. There are a 1,000 ways to skin a cat. I'm pretty sure the guy knows you don't need the socket with the magic widow that's shown in the video.

That's a non-issue here, the proposed change in depth will be minimal. One full turn on the plug is .059", and it's a safe bet to assume you'll never need a washer even half that thick, meaning .030" is your worst case scenario, and there is more discrepancy than that just between spark plug brands.
MAN! you guys are serious! I'm just happy when I can get the damn plugs in the hole on my LT4!
- i just spent the better part of a day removing the plugs and installing new ones in my 90. i was able to get a torque wrench on all 8 of them, and at 20 ft lbs, that's all the frickin' indexing i need. there's no way in hell i'd index the plugs in that L98 - at least while the engine's in the car. IMO, indexing hits the point of diminishing return - a LOT of work for very little return. wrenching on my car is fun and sometimes therapeutic, but my poor hands - they're cut, scraped, bruised, and hurt a lot. i'm sure glad i don't have to do that for a living - indexing the plugs on that car - you've got to be kidding me...
