Not me, but I read it on here all the time. I obviously was being facetious.
The Clean Air Act of 1990 required oxygenates in all motor fuel.
MTBE was originally used but has been phased out leaving ethanol as the only viable alternative. I don't know how long you have been driving but 10% ethanol has been in our fuels for at least ten years.
So so you replace the coils and all internal parts as one person has implied.
no the coils are sealed under a phenolic plastic mold. Without exposure to fuel the coil does not wear out. The Bosch 3 is 100% stainless steel, has 1 moving part and a hardened ball seat requiring no seal. It simply does not wear out. We remove the filter, all o rings. The injector gets tested, then it is cleaned ultrasonically and reassembled. We then flow test these in sets of 8 and mark the data. Sets are matched at this time. The injector is filled with a lube and capped. The multec has an exposed coil on the inside, fuel flows through the injector coil. This coil has a coating that is not compatible with alcohol products. GM put out a bulletin to their dealers telling them no to clean or service these. Granted they work fine, but, they will fail eventually. Be careful on NOS also as injectors were made in 1990-96 are close to 20 yrs old. If stored properly they are probably OK. If stored in moisture climates the injector ball seat can develop rust, the spring seat also rust on these. All, I can tell you is the Bosch injector IMO is the best injector made and a retrofitted set of Bosch 3's for 169 is a heck of a deal. Also note this, The Bosch 3 can be removed in the L98 without removing the plenum. A swap takes about an hour.
Guys! No need to fight about it. A good deal and a good replacement part is simply the opinion of the guy buying the part. New is new and rebuilt are rebuilt.. Simple enough for me. I would just like to make a point and show you an alternative. Many of you think we just sell only the Bosch 3 for the TPI because there are so many guys buying them. For you that don't know, we sell these in new or rebuilt. We also sell fuel injectors for just about any application. The Bosch 3 is the best replacement for the multec we have found. Only because of its later technology and superb quality. But, it seems that some of you would rather have a Brand New injector. So, here you go. We are now offering the Delphi 22lb new series Multec. These are the exact OEM replacement made to replace the original but will be compliant for use with the ethanol additive’s used in most of our fuel. We have flow matched all these sets and put them on sale for $289.00 with a 3 yr warranty. Now you have all the options you may need with the service that you deserve.

Jon, thanks for finally chiming in. This was getting ridiculous.
I have been in this bussiness a long time. In a lot of cases rebuilt is better then new. The reason I say this is because in time they can see what is failing and correct it with new and inproved parts. Jon would not be around if he sold a poor product but the thing that is so impressive is his service. Hands down he has the best service I have seen in this bussiness in a long time.
Didn't I read somewhere you swapped a LSx series in your car or something to that effect or was it a LTx Or maybe was someone else. (sorry if it wasn't you) ???? So how is a stealthram going to fit? Seems like a step back to me even if it would fit.

How wold it be a step back?.. Did you forget to take your anti-ignorant pill today?
Well with the money you saved, buy some wheel spacers for those sawblades. They look ridiculous sunk in like that.
I don't think a stock TPI is better then a HSR, I just don't see the need to modify my engine.
Sometimes I wish I didnt feel "the need". I would be able to drive my car more and it would be alot cheaper to do so.

this thread turned into a pissin' contest with no winners and no prizes. the mods really need to shut this sucker down! really, who cares what injectors you're running. if you're happy with the multechs, or happy with the boschIII's so be it. the only person you need to make happy is yourself. most of you need to move on!

Congrats, some are inclined to build their engines others aren't. I've had my share of builds and just choose not to go that route with this car. Just want it to be a fun car to drive is all. Power is easily achievable just by buying a newer car and to me a better route.
