Well...I got the radiator in today....FoolCrzy, did you get yours installed?? Let me know. Curious wher you bought your and if it is the same as the original. e mail or post....
The R&R was not the worst on my 96, but it wasn't the easiest either. First you have to take the entire smog pump out to get to three tiny little screws that hold the upper radiator support to the lower on each side. You can get to them on the left side, but on the right you must take the air pump out first. What a joke. Then the most difficult thing is to get the upper radiator support past the air conditioner lines that lead to the condenser. What a B#$&&. Other wise pretty starigh forward.
ONE THING TO WATCH!!!!!!!!
The raditator I got from radiator.com fit perfect and was like the original EXCEPT!! the original radiator I removed had a core that was 1 3/8" core, the new one does only have a 1" core. However, the core of the new radiator looks like a much more hi-performance radiator core with finer fins and more wound. ANyway, if you are buying a new radiator to check core thickness.. While I was at it I also threw in the 160 power stat I ahd laying around. Now my Vette runs at 174 -180 water and 180 - 190 degrees oil temps...right where I want it
ANyone else having any radiator stories here??? :nopity
