That's some hunkin' cam for a street strip car. Must have a heck of an idle.

That will run fine on the street with a 383, alittle rough on a 350. My buddy has a slightly bigger one than that in a 406 miniram that runs 10's on motor at 130 and its fine on the street. Aggressive and lopey hell yes but driveable.

My 383 was street strip, mid 11's at 119 mph. 10.6 at 127-128 on 150 shot. Could daily drive if it you didnt mind the noise, it was very loud. Automatic/3600 stall.

.603/.613 lift
109 LSA
Hyd. roller
6300 rpm peak but held power to 6500-6600 and shift by 6600-6800.

After reading some of the posts in this thread, it looks like my cam is going to be pretty mild in my 383.

I am going to run a ported SuperRam. Its pretty well ported, will I be able to make power to 6000 RPM?

Don't mean to thread jack

It should get up in the 5800-6000 range. If you throw enough cam in it, it will hold power to that rpm and beyond. It may peak earlier than 5800 but will stay peaked til 6200 or more depending on the cam specs. That being said, i'd run atleast a 230 deg cam on the intake

When I was running a 383 with an Extrude Honed SuperRam, I had a Crane 222/230 hydraulic roller. The car ran low 11's@119. I shifted at 6300rpm. Now with a 406 and the same intake, I am running a Crane 230/240 hydraulic roller. 10.60s@126, 6500rpm.
