I have a 1989 corvette
It has been sitting for a few years
The more I run it the better it performs
I noticed oil coming from the dip stick
Anyone got any ideas or solutions
My mechanic calls it blow by
He suggest a new engine or rebild this one
Any thoughts?
Start the engine. Pull the PCV valve out of the valve cover. If you see or feel air puffing out of the hole, your car has blow-by. This is usually caused by worn, broken or stuck rings. How many miles on the engine?
^ If the car has been sitting for a long time, it may need time for the rings to reseat as well. Noticed that with my 88. Real bad blowby the first 5-700 miles. Last 200 have been a lot less.
