OK, gather around guys, the saga of the wacky windshield wipers continues.
Thought it might be in the motor, then maybe the circuit board for the wiper motor, or maybe the switch. Well, the plot thickens.
We take the car out to get a bite, when we start it up the radio won’t work but the tape player does and it sounds great (Before the player sounded sort of like the chipmunks). Of course now the wipers work perfectly.
We start back home hit a bump the radio comes back on tape player goes back to chipmunk mode and the wipers screw up again. Next thing radio works, chipmunk mode for the tape player and wipers work. By the time we get home we have gone through every conceivable combination I can think of. I know grounds can do some weird stuff but this is nuts.
Any ideas, this stuff has to be tied together but darned if I can figure how the radio and wipers are tied to gather, especially the Bose Radio/tape stuff.
Does the wiper motor cover have ALL the screws attached and tight ? My foggy memory says the lower left screw(when looking from DS wheel) is responsible for giving the cover a good ground path.
When mine became loose, my wipers had a mind of their own.

Yea, I've even took the cover and checked for loose connections. Pulled the circuit board out, ran continuity checks on the diode and resisters. Even ran an external ground on the wiper case straight to the batt just to be sure.
I have a feeling this isn't really a problem in the wiper unit anymore. There is something really weird going on and it's probably going to be something really simple and really dumb. Still trying to narrow down the ground circuits to find something in common with the radio. So far they are all in tact.
In the last year the car has refused to start twice. It only takes a tap of the starter and it comes to life. In both of those instances there was no fire. Let it set for about twenty minutes and cranks like normal. I have a feeling that this is all related starting to suspect it may be in the power feed from the switch. It's getting interesting.
Pulled the switch apart, checked all contacts and everything. It's really a pretty straight forward set of sliders when you get into it. Hardest part is modifining the case for reassembly. Perfect inside.
