Electronic Cut-outs... ?
Will the cutouts give a muffler eliminator like sound? How much for them? I'll plan on putting them right before the mufflers most likely.
And yes, I still have my flowmaster exhaust in the garage ... i might have someone make me an X-pipe to use on it. It's just entirely too loud for drive's home and going anywhere trying to have a conversation with anyone but yourself.
Oh, and that would give me a good way to hook up the "Full Power Mode" light in the display center.. cuz with the exhaust open vs stock, it sure as hell will have full power compared to with those mufflers lol!

Since it's a normal cutout, here's what I would suggest, get you some cutouts and see how you like the sound. If it's too loud, cap it up and forget about it. If it's soemthing you are interested in, the buy the electric gate unit.
It was $150.00 each when I emailed them. The web page it was on has been dropped. I cant find it with any searches.
The valve was controlable to 6 posistions, from inside the car of course.
I was going to use it on my borla exhuast tips to control noise.
It was only in 3" when I emailed them. they were working on 2.75" and 2.5" That was why I held off on buying it.
it use to be on http://www.empiremotorsports.net which is now gone.

How do you describe the sound of the cut-outs, and where did you place yours?

I'll call tomorrow and see if they make the 2.75 yet.

got mine from Matt McMillan. It is a McCord Power Plate. Iinfo on where to order here: http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm
The mods I made are strictly to make it work with my particular setup, which is using a factory convertible top switch to operate it as opposed to the poopiety switch it comes with. I will HIGHLY stress that whoever buys one, pay a GREAT deal of attention to how it actually works. If not, expect to destroy it on the first use. You REALLY DO have to hook it up off the car and play with it to get a feel of how it is supposed to work before you install it. Otherwise, it's toast. All you have is one light to tell you if it's open/closed and the toggle switch. (cont.)

You hold it too long, and you've busted the motor. And the switch doesn't react fast enough, you actually have to let go of the switch before you see the light come on, cause then it's too late. I can see why they've had some problems with it. But I stress that it's not a design problem per se, it works just like it was designed to. But the user has to take some responsibility.

You could make the 3 inch work alright. A good exhaust shop should be able to expand your tailpipe to fit it on the input side and then gently taper it back down to fit the muffler. If you look at the size of the opening, it appears smaller than a normal cutout anyway, so perhaps the 3 inch would be better for flow.
I searched, and searched...
Anyhow, I noticed they changed the name to power plate 2, and the switch is very different. I have some pics of the old one on my drive, which was a rotary switch.
I think I would break this thing right away with the way it seems to be overly sensitive to use.
