Default Evap box and pullys, what do you think?

What do you guys think of my evap box delete? Special thanks to Aardwolf for the help.

Also my pully delete, I moved the alt to the passenger side with hopes of a blower in the future.

No prob! You will love how easy it is to change the plugs and work on that side of the engine.

Very nice fabrication work!

Do you still have the AC Compressor support brackets, (3)? If so, and if you want to sell them let me know. Thanks

Wow looks like a nice build you have going there.

Did you have your block bead blasted? Looks extremely clean.

I am looking at removing the evaporator box also, but still want my heater. Did you set the air door to the heat position and lock it. By any chance, did you make a template of the new fab'ed box that you woudl be willing to share ?

Thanks

I left the door how it was. I just fabricated the intial box out of cardboard. I started with the upper and lower section, I then made the top cover. It will only cost about 10 dollars to make, it is just time consuming. Let me know if you need measurements or anything else that can help.

Great Idea to make the original out of cardboard. One question.
On top of the Evaporator Box are two electrical plugs that plug into a heat sink with electrical components that hang down in the Evaporator box. Can that sensor be unplugged, and wires tied back and still have full use of heater controls. I dont care a bit about AC, but up here heat is important.
Thanks

I think that the heatsink gauges your temp and will adjust the fan speed accordingly, I could be wrong. I just cut a slot for the heatsink and popped it in.

Aardwolf,
Its a nice unit. Every part I used came from the recommendations of the guys on the forum. So far it is going together nicely. I have been taking vacation time to work on it.

After my thread about this I changed mine. I had the electronic control like that too. I removed the C68 so I could sell it and now use a manual blower fan switch for heat/defrost.

NP! I used a 20 amp inline fuse with it. I had to make a bracket and cover box on the inside, similar to the one above. There is a pic of the switch in my thread about it here:
