Your WTF for Today
A bowling buddy has asked me to "fix" an engine he got from an airboat friend. Seems they did a high dollar rebuild, fired it up, adjusted the valves with an impact wrench. When they got to the third intake valve it was making a lot of noise and quit. Imagine that. I am not sure I know what to tell him.

Tell him you'll fix it. All it's going to cost is a couple new pistons, valves, and if Captain Dumbass is lucky he didn't annihilate the heads.

Expect to find Bent valves and broken valve guides in the cylinder head.
I too have seen the aftermath of someone using an air wrench to adjust rocker arms.
Live and learn the hard way. LOL.

Reads like a buddy of mine who torqued his head bolts with an impact wrench.
Cracked the block in about a dozen different places, all around the bolt holes. Of course, it was junk afterwards. LOL

LOL, yep, I bet
we could. Over the years, sh*t happens, LOL
How about the time the driveshaft front U-joint broke at 8 grand, hit the ground, bounced back up and hit me RIGHT IN THE CRACK OF THE
as*.
I'd just shifted into 2nd gear. Now that's something I'll
never forget!!!
Turns out one of our crew guys had changed the U-joint and left out a few unnecessary bearings. Happened in this car.
Ain't goin fast fun!?
