shut down

I have a 92 vette when i reach 90 mph the car will act like it has reached the speed limiter and the dash will start blinking does anyone know what causes this.

You might want to watch the RPM gauge instead of the speedo next time to see if it is a MPH or RPM specific issue.

Note: Not saying this is your deal but I know a guy that drives a modded C5 that intentionally setup his cluster backlighting to blink "off then on" at a specific RPM sort of like a shift light would....to each their own I guess.
