90 brake issues

The switch on the master cylinder is pressing on the raised area that rests around the shaft between the front and rear cylinder cups. If one of the the master cylinder fluid pressure areas (master cyl, line, wheel cylinder (caliper), ABS line loses fluid, only one side of the master cylinder will have pressure.
When you press on the pedal,
The raised area slides to the side, activating the MC switch, grounding the wire and putting on the brake light.
It has nothing to do with ABS. It is a fluid loss alert / system malfuntion light.
BTW, I would bleed the brakes, and see if your problem isn't related to the car sitting for so long. The system might have been messed with by the PO and nothing said.
Just a note:
If it had that nasty bump on the front bumper, it might have been caused by brake failure originally, so driving the car even 50 feet with no obstacles in front of it seems dangerous to me, given the greater amount of torque provided by the TPI. Fix those brakes first.

Too funny .... Never thought that could have been the cause ... I'm going to hold off on addressing the brake issues with the car though until I really decided what rims I am going to switch to. Might go ZR1 replicas with a C5 brake upgrade not sure yet.
