Can a bad brake booster trigger a maf code on the ses light, I have a engine surge and a bad brake booster, I am getting a code 34 (maf). I replaced the relays and swapped out the maf for a good one reset the codes and it still comes back. I'm guessing the surge could be due to the bad booster but can that also throw a false Maf code?

If you don't have access to a FSM, you could disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the booster to see if the code resets. If you drive the car like this, be prepared for a non-power assisted, hard pedal.

An unmetered air source could cause a 34. Plug it, clear the code and see if it returns.

At least now I know the booster is causing the surge, Now to figure out the 34. changing the relays and maf did not help
