Default injector signal

what is the signal that pulses an injector. is it dc or ma signal? i want to figure out if i have an injector not opening without having to remove all of them. i have a signal generator to use as a test tool.

It is DC but you don't need a signal generator to get it to fire just apply 12 volts across the injector coil and it should "pick" the solenoid up and release fuel as long as the coil is energized/picked. Only apply voltage (even with a signal generator)to the injector for a second or less or you'll fill the cylinder with what ever fuel you have in the fuel rail....that's a lot of fuel. If you have a fuel pressure gauge hooked at the fuel rail during the time of testing you should see the pressure drop once the injector "opens". To see the actual injector waveform you'll need an "o" scope.

Here is a link for a site with technical information for an injector waveform: http://automotivetestsolutions.com/i...rWaveforms.htm
