Are all your conversions w/ an auto tranny only? Could you do it to a six speed car?

I have yet to do one but I could do anything. With enough research anything can be done.

If anyone is close and interested in LSx builds id gladly take a cruise to come let you take a look. Any questions or concerns Id answer them for you. Not a pitch to buy but a opportunity to see a alternate route.

I would think you need something more potent than a stock LS1, as it is only 30-40hp more than LT1 and even or less than a LT4.

If I can get a nice LT1 and add cam, heads and exhaust and come out with more hp at the same or lower price, I wouldn't want the LS1. Which would be a hassle to get parts for, because owner would need to know engine year.

Trust me unless you have ROLLS of money to throw at your car the LS is the way to go. I know because I was at the shop when my LE2 LT1 blew up on the dyno. I was faced with a choice $5000 for a built 396 that will give me 400rwhp + using my Le2 heads and intake. So I got 360-370hp I think with my LS2 that cost me less than that shortblock. And it will pass emissions idle perfect and one little baby cam will get me to the 400 rwhp mark.

Now Im just saying if I drop a LS1 in they have a amazing base to work with. Add a ls6 cam and 243 heads and you got a LS2/LS6 power. Add headers any a tune you got my power. I will drop in whatever the person wants but they have to pay the bill. You want a LS7 lets do it. You want a 5.3 LM7 vortec to save money but look like a LS motor thats fine.

Parts cant compare with a LSx motor. Those parts are everywhere. Lt1 are becoming the dieing aftermarket breed.

The owner or person buying the car will know what motor I put in Ill tell them. Anything can be replaced easy and if they have questions they can call me or ask for help Id help.

Well, a cam only LSx with some supporting bolt-on's and tune will easily produce as much or more (depending on cam choice) than a H/C ltx motor with same type of bolt-on's... the combo in my sig produces enough to easily propell my 84 to 60mph < 4 seconds on the street and blow the tires off at 75 mph and shut any supposed 3500+lb 400-650hp car up lol

What do you think the cost would be for an LS3 with a six speed? My car is a 94 vert with an automatic. I've been wanting a six speed for awhile and having an LS motor would make it so sweet, almost like getting a new car. Sounds like you work very reasonably.
I guess the rear end would have to change as well.
For the right price this looks very interesting. I think your market would be in doing other peoples cars.

Wish you were out here on the left coast. I'm mulling over an LS6 or LS3 swap into an '87 (automatic). Would be interested in your budget input too---you're only a 4-day drive away.

Also, I'm polling folks in another thread to find out how the lighter engine affects the front end. I'd appreciate your input here or in that thread.
