Might be the 3000 stall showing less power at the dyno ?
Would love to see the 1/4 numbers !
I agree with you, but it must be the small cam holding things down. Once I get the car back in my possession, I might replace the cam with a more agressive, still emissions friendly grind. Cam card below.

The original engine developed a light tick that sounded almost like a lifter. After replacing the lifters, plugs, wires, Opti and water pump with no luck, I decided to just drive it for awhile. I was accelerating lightly up a hill (1/4 throttle) and I heard a boom and it shut down. When we disassembled it, we found pieces of the piston in the front bellow past the throttle body and what is shown in the picture above in one cylinder. I can only assume there was a weak spot in the block, cracked piston or pin.

Definitely not what I would have expected from a car with 40k on the clock and rarely driven hard.

Thanks!

Tony

Is that the LPE cam? What are your numbers and the rest of the build info? I have a TPI IROC I am fooling with now.

Thanks!

Yes that's for the Super Ram (the Long tube TPI uses the "211")
i have a 355 with flat top Hyper pistons, SuperRam upper and lower manifold,AFR 195 Heads,Long tube headers,58mm Holley tb, AFPR Regulator,24lb FIC injectors,1.6 Crane cams gold series roller rockers.
I have it thru a 3200 vigilante and 3.07..i definetely need sticky tires!

I don't have emission test here ...
but the tune took the lopey idle away
and i don't know my numbers yet but i will have them soon (track numbers)
