The valve covers have never been off yet. Maybe they need to come off. ;)
You've hit the 12s man. I don't know how much more you can suck outta the L98 without some more in depth mods. :) If anything pull the covers and just do a pressure test on the springs, see if they are still at acceptable levels. Could always replace them with stock ones if you feel like doing it twice. :D

Vic, heres a couple of dyno graphs. I use the same shop and same operator each time. Results are normalized. First one is an exhaust mod when I went from having flowmasters and no main cat to true 2.5"duals and got rid of the precats and installed the air pump elim kit. As son as I can find the other one of my before and after intake dyno I'll post it. Dang, I got a new computer and didnt save the graph. I have it here in my hand. I can give you some numbers though. I made the following changes in between the next round of mods. I used the run in the pic above as my baseline for the next one (the one in my hand) since I hadnt changed anything else. I put on the accell base and a set of SLP shorty headers purchased from Mackey here on the forum. Remember, I allready had a pretty good exhaust and the shorty headers are the same exact pattern as the stock manifolds so I dont think I gained much from the headers. Compare these numbers to the one in the above pic.

4500rpm 290rwtrq 248rwhp
5000rpm 240rwtrq 227rwhp
If you plot these you'll see that mine helped alot between 4000-4700rpm. Hope this helps some.

I installed TPIS Base/runners/ported plenum/52mm throttle body. My didn't seem to gain anything either, but I know have other issues (my car runs really rich). I did seem to get better ET's by shifting 200-300 rpm higher (.1).... or maybe that is because my wallet is $1300 lighter :mad

Dgoodhue

Thanks for the info. That is the kind of feedback I am looking for.
