This may sound pretty elementary to some, but it's a new area to me and I have searched the FSM, this forum and several other LT1-related forums to no avail. I know that the ideal voltage at the TPI on my stock '94 is .56, but nowhere have I seen a description of how to check it with the sensor pigtail plugged in -- as it has to be (I think) to get some voltage in and variable voltage out. Pierce the wire covering with a probe?
And then the second question: IS the 94 TPS even adjustable? I have seen several different opinions on that.
This very simple procedure, I have to admit, has got me baffled. No fault codes, BTW, just checking the setting after taking off the TB and MAF for cleaning.
Do not bother buying and installing the adjustable TPS sensor. Although it has some pretty red anodized thumb screw fasteners it doesn't change anything appreciable. Save your money unless you like anodized fasteners.
