FIXED: paint, engine and interior!!!

When I get back from the drive home in the new car I'll have to get the C4 cleaned up and post it for sale in earnest. I'll still go run it on the dyno before it goes just so we know how the Renegade did.

I have had the C5 for a while, and when you get back in the C4, there's no active handling, no differential braking, no "help save the driver goodies" and you just have to be a better driver in the C4 when you go fast. The C4 taught me humility in a curve, ability in traffic and sharpened my reflexes off the line.
I enjoy the C5 for what it is, the next generation, but puleeeze, the C4 with a 383 is faster, just not as nimble.
And of course, it takes about the same amount of money to make each go faster and handle, just the C5 is worth more and the net result is a better car.
The heads up display in the C5 has really saved me a few times as well.
Granted, the C5 is quieter, but the seats aren't as comfortable as the collector edition 96 seats in the 86.
The C5 is wider, but I'm alone in the C4 mostly, so it doesn't matter that there's no legroom over there.
THe C5 is costlier to repair on the daily stuff, but the C4 stuff is abundant because of the wrecks by under trained drivers thinking they are Granatelli and the car is undervalued, which makes parting it out lucrative.
In my book, the C4 is right there with the C5, just everything is manual.
I gotta say, the C5 air conditioner is fantastic. The C4's is not. THe C5 has a 12 CD changer, and the C4 doesn't....But the C4 radio and system is still cranking, 25 years into the test drive.
I just changed the C4 cargo area carpet, and the car almost looks showroom fresh. Course I dyed everything else so it looks pretty good.

I'm glad you finally found something you can be happy with. I always felt sorry for you when reading your many problem threads with your 84.
The C5 Fast Back, always looked the Sportiest too me!

I moved the C4 out to the street today so that the C5 could stay in the car port. I'll put the C4 on Craigslist tonight. The only thing I can slight the C5 on so far is the lack of a light in the console. Oh, and then there's the problem of wanting to nail the gas every time I drive it just to feel the rush - WOOHOO!
You will miss your 84 C4 I think after the C5 bug wears off.
Have driven a few C5's including a ZO6.
They are fast.
But overall too civil to me.
Prefer the smaller cockpit interior of a C4.
And feeling more connected with the road while driving a C4.
You like to Tinker and build, a hotrodder, and will miss that underdog 84 C4.
You Loved that 84. You know it too. LOL
Read Your posts for some time too.

The guy bought a freshened up 377 CI smallblock from a former coworker from of mine.
BJ stayed a mechanic but quit dirtrack racing.
Sold the engine to this 84 owner and also got paid to install the 377ci modified class 4bbl engine. 18 degree Brodex aluminum heads.
I have seen this 84 running around. The owner is not afraid to race it.
It runs and very hard.
Owner claims he has seen 177 mph top end with RPM's to spare.
Base suspension car and an Auto 700R4.
C5 really has nothing over a C4 built right. Other than the C5 is newer.
