How much lift can 113 heads take. There has to be a point were to much lift excedes what they will flow. I am putting a new cam an the lift is 444 with 1.5 rockers,If you use 1.6 then it changes to 473.Is it better to run 1.6 on the exuast only or all they way around????
I'm running ~ 540 on a set of 113 heads and they pull pretty hard.....but these heads have been reworked & ported and are nothing close to stock.
If your looking to see how much lift a stock valve spring setup will take on a 113 head I believe they will do 520 before you start hitting stuff. It is never a good idea to throw more lift on an already high mileage set of springs. Do a search here on the forum this topic has been covered may times.
The stock 113 springs can only handle about .478 lift but with new springs and no modifications to the head you can go as high as .525 lift. If I were you I would throw a new set of springs in with the rockers and you would be good.

I used the Hot cam spring kit on my 113 heads. That gives you up to .535 lift.

Run 1.6 on both sides. When people consider a 1.5/1.6 combo on a TPI setup, it usually works better to put the 1.5's on the exhaust side. That's because exhaust duration is typically more on an off-the-shelf cam. (Extra duration helps in place of extra lift).
