Default DCS - Renegade Manifold Problems

Does anyone know whether DCS is still trading. I paid for a renegade intake manifold for my 84 last Oct 2010 (4 months ago) and haven't received it. Furthermore they stopped answering my emails 2 months ago! Any info would be appreciated.

Dont they, DCS have a phone # you can call ?

If you paid with a credit card, I would contact your credit card company.

They will take care of the problem for you, and within a week or 2, refund your money in full.

I have run into problems like you are having now.

Buy Items and never ever receive them.

Leaves you feeling burned and upset.

Default Dynamic Crossfire Solutions

DCS stands for Dynamic Crossfire Solutions. I have checked with paypal and they have wiped there hands of it. So much for consumer protection using paypal. Not sure about my credit card provider. I will look into it.

Maybe I will give DCS a call and see if anyone answers the phone. I was trying to avoid international phone bills.

Yes,

I heard PayPal was terrible at standing behind a consumer is situations like you have with DCS.

I only use PayPal for ebay. They can keep their credit card. lol

Most Big credit card companies like Capital 1 will help when you pay for an item and never receive it.

I have had pretty good luck with Capital 1 cards and help desk so far.

That Custom EFI you showed me and others here on C4 last fall would look GREAT on your 84 Vette.

The Individual Runner EFI setup. Like a Delorto Carburator setup off an old Ferrari.

That is Very Neat.

Made down under in Australia I believe you said too.

You could find and purchase a used Hilborn or Crower Alcohol IR (individual runner) from a drag or circle track racer at a swapmeet.

Then have it converted to EFI. Do it yourself. Or send the mainfold IR system and have it converted.

Thinking of such a IR induction system for my 410 smallblock. Or finding a Weber- Delorto IR Carburator system.

I like carburators too.

You could always do something like I did. Get the ecm from dynamicefi with the multiport upgrade. Mine has the ham board so its plug an play. No modifications were needed to the harness at all.
When I removed my AIR solenoid it gave me two additonal wires and I used one for the MAT sensor.

If your interested in the conversion at all you can find it on SV, C4 tech,sticky...CFI to HSR. Its full of photos and everything used and done.

I have seen many Factory GM Corvette GM TPI's for sale last year in 2010 and 2011 thus far.

On Ebay. Complete.

There are a few sellers on ebay that specialize in C4's.

Strip them down and sell every last nut and bolt.

Along with complete engine and interior wiring harnesses and ECM's with the PROM Chip.

Seen a few of the 1985-1988 TPI's sell for $100 - $300.

They were in very good condition too. No dented Aluminum runners.

Some were even polished or powdercoated too.

I passed on them all because I need more airflow for that 410ci sbc I have.

I still like an IR 8 Butterfly system.

Delorto of EFI.

Will cost me $. lol

Factory TPI would be a nice an inexpensive move up from a Crossfire system.

You allready have plenty of experience tuning, from scan and tune from last year following your posts there.

There any Favorite Speed shops you like in Australia ?

I am looking for my Crower Sportsman brand Connecting rods for a Pontiac V-8. Have plenty of $$ for them I put away to buy them.

A Hillborn or Crower IR system for a SBC would be nice too.

I and many others will disagree with you here. Its a proven fact that for the money spent its a little gain. Extensive changing of wiring and labor for a little gain of 25hp.
You can just port the CFI intake and get that gain.

Maybe so.

On the street for low HP use. GM TPI has excellent driveaility and good torque as is.

I keep up with base C5's easy in my car. No BS.

Early TPI's have MAF system also.

I like MAF control. Many hate it I know.

As does the CFI, and is very reliable as well. When mine was crossfire based I got it down to a 13.3 @99 on the track.

If lemme goes a route of some type of multiport I would not recommend the TPI. I would go in the direction of single port,HSR,Miniram,Superram. Those are more worthwhile intakes.

Of course you can even make your own using a single plane intake,TB and weld in some bungs on the intake ports.
A ton of options that are out there. Heck you can use the 84 ecm to run 8 injectors as well, but the problem lies in the way of tuning. Chips aren't available and really its just a PITA. For a few hundred bucks you can get that ecm then your ready to rock with any intake you want.

They all are a love/hate relationship.

Any C4.

Forgotten performance car by most.

Most think my 87 vert is a PIECE OF $#$^&*

When at a stop light they dont even look over.

I floor the gas and leave them in a cloud of tire dust and rubber.

I only get looks and the Corvette Wave from C5 and C6 owners.

Drop the hammer down and we run together. lol

See real high speeds.

They win. But I hold them off to 140 + MPH.

I was the only vette (87 vert like you) at the drags on Friday night. It was quite a novelty. My only regret is they wouldn't let me race with the top down and the windows down. Guys with 9 sec cars were commenting on how good the car looks. Compared to all the flying bricks around the c4 is very sleek.
