You may already have the perfect cam for a stock TPI

You checked the part # on the cam?
Because 12 hours ago you didn't know what cam you had and the cam was still in engine

"I do not know, the car had a ZZ4 motor in it when I bought the car so I guess it does."

I emailed the person I bought the car from last night and he said it was a factory drop in engine.

you Can't guess!!! what engine you have and ask for performance help
maybe they dropped in a 305 how will you know!!!

why would GM install 3:23 & 3:45 as a performance option for TPI
I could feel a huge lose when I had a TPI car... and broke my 3:45 diff
went down to 3:23 TERRIBLE

Guys the oil pan says ZZ4 on it, the guy said he has the paper work on the motor and will send me the receipt, he even told where he bought it.

I always planned on either selling this car and moving to a C5 or build a 383 for this car. If what I am hearing is correct I am wasting my money building a 383 for this car because of the TPI?

As simple as a intake change to allow the bigger engine to breath

How much faster do you need to go? What is the car going to be used for? How much money do you want to spend?

I can see this going south quickly..... whatever you do, be careful of too much gear in an L98 based motor. I think you need to come up with a goal based on your statement above. Why put any money into it at all if you're moving to a C5 or going with a bigger cube motor? The answer just might be as simple as putting a 100 shot of N2O

PS: And no, you're not wasting your money because it's a TPI......there are some pretty darn mean L98 based builds out there

I want a 12 second car.

This is my 530CI Cadillac stroker motor for my airboat one head cost more then whole car. I am not looking to divert to much money from my airboat addiction to the car but I am starting to catch the corvette bug. I would like to be able to hold my own with some of these new sports cars.

Is the ported intake factory? Or, did you port an aftermarket TPI?

Should have said that upfront instead of beating around the bush with
" what cam will work with my home ported TPI "

Only a w*nker would assume you can double your Hp with a bare intake swap.

An " intake swap " to most of us on here includes the parts obviously needed to make such swap work
so yes it is ": as simple as a intake swap "

Nice boat man, what a great toy!

If you want a 12 second car w/o putting too much money into it then the easiest way by far would be a 100 shot. You wouldn't get a 12 sec timeslip, but it would be a 12 sec car stoplite to stoplite. Another alternative is to build a new TPI big cube motor, but then you'd need tranny work & a D44 (10 grand or more). Yet another way would be to put on a mini or stealth ram & cam it; basically turning it into an LT motor, but then you'd still need running gear work & you'd give up being smog legal (and really need some heads to boot). Or, the C5 route but I don't think that would get you much more for your money except the nicer creature comforts & more advanced engineering.

Anyway you go, give it some honest thought with respect to what you want out of your car coupled with your personal preferences & what you want to spend. Like 383vett (and Smokey Yunick) said, how fast do you wanna go?

Last year I had a nitrous express gemini kit on it also 300hp shot. I blew head gaskets every weekend, I went to copper gaskets & SS O-ring but still could not keep the heads down. Cadillacs only have 10 head bolts. It was pretty insane when I hit a 300 shot ontop of the 700.

My car already has a new transmission, I just did it a couple months ago. All the parts are hardend, z-pac clutches, transgo shift kit, vigilante stall 2800rpm.
