Speedometer issues!
I have a 1993 C4 and am having issues with my speedometer. It reads "0" for the first 10 minutes of driving or so, then the speedometer kicks in. When the speedometer is at "0", the odometer isn't working either. I bought the car with a busted steering column, replaced it and everything is working fine, but the speedometer. All the other guages seem to be fine.
I'm not sure that the column has anything to do with it or not, just thought i would throw that out there. Where do I start?

No, I don't have any warning lights on. It is weird though because a couple of times the center square where the speedometer should read is blank, just the orange backlight. Then, it may come back on and register a speed. And occasionally, the speed it registers is not correct. I would love if someone could offer some basic things to check. I'm hoping it's not going to need a new instrument cluster...
